The sound “HI” (ヒ) signifies a fundamental “Shinen” (core meaning/intention), representing the first “Hitotsu” (a singular point or unit) to emerge in the Phenomenal World. This emergence is instigated by “KA” – the primordial power or energy in Katakamuna, which serves as the latent source of all phenomena.
At this “HI” stage, there’s no physical matter as we understand it. Instead, it’s a state of pure energy existing within the Latent World. Simultaneously with its emergence, this energy begins a rotational movement, both clockwise (Mawari) and counter-clockwise (Mawari). The energies, clockwise with clockwise and counter-clockwise with counter-clockwise, possess a nature to instantly coalesce and superimpose upon each other. This phenomenon is termed “Jugo” (重合 – coalescence or superimposition).
This fundamental rotational nature then continues as inherited motion, such as self-rotation and orbital revolution, even after manifesting as matter in the Phenomenal World. Katakamuna defines this initial stage of energy and information transfer from the Latent World to the Phenomenal World as the number “1” and calls it “HI.”
